hello there! it's been a while since i've shared anything on this little site of mine. i have so much to talk about and share (like being pregnant with our second baby!) but i'm having a really difficult time getting 1. motivated and 2. making time to sit down and actually post on here. i have been working on a new layout though because i'm bored with the old one and have plans to share a lot of things about this pregnancy, house projects and other tid bits from our life. so i hope you'll check back soon to see and read all the changes.
for now, here's a simple recipe for laundry softener that i've been using for several weeks and loving.
here's what you'll need:
- 4-5 cups coarse kosher salt
- 1-2 tsp lavender, lemon or peppermint essential oil
- jar with lid
how to make it:
- pour the salt into your jar
- add your choice oil
- screw lid on and shake until well mixed
- let sit for 24 hours to completely absorb the oil
- add a 1/3 to 1/2 salt to each load of laundry
And that's it! The original recipe can be found here, but i must note that i didn't have enough salt on hand to follow these exact measurements, so i worked with what i had and adjusted the amount of oil accordingly. i don't think there's a way to really mess this up, so you can adjust it to your liking or whatever you have on hand as well. ENJOY!!
until next time,
