Elias has been showing signs of teething since he was around 3.5 - 4 months old. It started with excessive drooling, then he started chewing on anything and everything he could get his hands on. It progressed into occasional whining, ear tugging and even a little congestion. About 2 weeks ago, his first tooth finally popped through and he now has 2 more that should be in any day now. I honestly was NOT expecting him to get teeth this soon. Can he just slow his role with this whole growing up thing?!
Thankfully, I have several teethers on hand for Elias to get him through this tough time. This teether specifically is the Nuby Easy Teethe Teether and it's one of my favorites. I love it for several reasons. One, it's small enough for Elias' little hands to hold on to and it's shaped in a way that's easy for him to pick back up if he drops it. Two, you can stick it in the fridge and the tail of the whale gets cold. Three, it's BPA free and super cute! But I think the thing I like the most about it is that even when it's cold, it's still easy for Elias to hold on to. Unlike other cooling teethers that cool the entire ring, this one only cools the tail. Elias sometimes has a tough time holding on to other teethers when they are cold because well.. they're cold! His hands get wet and he ends up just dropping the teether and never picking it up again. This teether, however, has a place for his hands to hold on to it, so he can still chew on the cool part without getting his hands cold or wet. It's perfect.
I can hand this to Elias and he'll chew on it for hours, no joke AND I've noticed a big difference in his mood when he has it, which let's me know it's soothing his sore gums. Teething is a tough time for little ones, but it can be made a lot easier with teethers like this one. Other teethers Elias loves can be found here, here and here. I'm so grateful for this teether and how it's helping Elias get through this milestone. If you have a teething babe and are looking for a few teethers, I suggest you pick up this one. If you're local, you can pick it up at Babies R Us, but it's also available on Amazon.
What are some of your favorite teethers or tricks to help your little one while they're teething?
